Vanguard Build Post 001

Shipyard where the Vanguard XPM Explorer Yacht is being built, featured on ExplorerYacht.com, showcasing the construction process, aluminum hull assembly, and precision engineering behind this extreme passagemaker.

May 2021 – update on the arrival of the first batch of pre-cut aluminium sheets. Erecting the frame for the build, prepping the hefts in way of future welds, and starting the build.  Naval Yachts build their boats upside down initially so that most of the welding is down-over.

The hull will be rotated at a later point.  While the hull was beginning to take form, we also continued to work on the internal layout at least as far as it affected the construction of the hull.  The next batch of aluminium will be delivered early June 2021.   To keep ahead of inflation we will also order the majority of any large capital items such as engines and propellers.
